I LIKE this snapshot --- in awe of it, actually. It came about after Sloan took a photo of Boyd standing beside the 482nd sign (to his left) outside of our barracks/dorm. The low angle taking in the stairs works exceptionally well here. I'm especially fascinated by Boyd's well worn fatigue shirt, the stairs, and the three foot plant by the downstairs door --- I have no idea how the last survived in that sandy soil with countless shortcuts of men, suitcases, duffles, mattresses, and assorted furniture items passing by.
The date-stamp on the print confuses me however, as I don't recall a sign ever being there in my time period. But then, I don't clearly remember the sign's original position at the entrance to the squadron area, either. GCW
