482nd FIS:

l-r: Geo Willick & Sloan Coker --- July 18, 2009

I had just finished an 8 hour stretch on computer databases when Sloan arrived in late afternoon on his way to Chanute AF base ... I was stunned by both and not much of a host. Sloan had brought along several gifts that included a clock with a 482nd face (now in the kitchen) and a neat 482nd auto ID plate. It was nice to meet him as a comfortable, relaxed adult rather than the detail-weary airman I remember (we both came in 1957). Sloan noted early on that I was wearing an AF belt (he doesn't miss much), which was a recent Xmas gift from a S/Sgt son-in-law. Sloan started in mechanical and ended up in electrical by way of hydraulic ... the Air Force plans these things carefully.

Snapshot by my wife, Peachie.
