LENARD R. ADKINS Sr.


Retired U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Lenard Ray Adkins Sr., 59, of 337 Gertrude Grady Road, died Tuesday.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 4 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. M. O. Sears will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

A native of West Virginia, Mr. Adkins was the son of the late Earl Adkins and Myrtle Smith Adkins and was the widower of Betty Ann Adkins. He was employed by Sasser Camping Center.

He is survived by his wife Phyllis Brown Adkins; a daughter, Joyce Marie Cox of Prince George, Va.; a son, Michael Wayne Adkins of Franklin, Va.; and four grandchildren, Tami Lyn Cox, Cynthia Renee Adkins, Jennifer Michell Cox, and Michael Wayne Adkins Jr.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 925, Goldsboro, 27533.

The family will receive friends Friday from 3 until 4 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
