Mr. Fred J. Baker died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001, at his home. He had retired with the rank of CMSgt from the U.S. Air Force after 22 years of service and retired from Westinghouse with 20 years in management. He was born March 5, 1925, in Midland City, IL, to Leslie F. Baker and Katherine Wackerly.

Funeral arrangements for Mr. Baker, 75, of Moulton, GA, will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home with the Rev. Dwight Nesmith and the Rev. Art Rowe officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 2 to 4 at the funeral home. Mr. Baker was a member of East End United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Catherine Dolores (Taylor) Baker of Moulton; one son, Freddie Joe Baker of Baltimore, Md.; three daughters, Brenda Sander and Susie Farnan, both of Moulton, and Tammy Mermainin of Vineland, N.J.; one sister, Clara Louise Reed of Clinton, Ill.; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Harris, Nick Mermainin, Connie Ray Livingston, Harold Smothers, Jimmy McNeill, and Roger Thompson.

Burial: Owen Chapel Cemetery, Youngtown, Lawrence County, Alabama.
