Dan Kendall Basden, 64, of 3812 Alameda St., died Friday, December 29, 2000, at his home. He was born in Jones County and graduated from Jones Central High School. After serving with the U.S. Air Force, he worked with Carolina Telephone in Kinston, then moved to Durham, where he worked with Telephone Services, Inc., until his retirement in 1996.

Survivors include his daughter, Deborah Basden-Golombiski, of Hillsborough; his two sons, Danny Basden, of Durham, and Kenneth Basden, of Syracuse, N.Y.; their mother, Louise Basden, of Durham; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 31, 2000, from the chapel of Garner Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pinelawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
