TOBACCOVILLE - Mr. Ralph Wayne Burcham, 68, died Saturday, July 1, 2006. He was born May 31, 1938, in Salem, Va., to Craig Emmett and Helen Iona Duffy Burcham. He retired as 1st Sgt. from the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by his wife, Carlotta Darlene Sharpe Burcham of the home; two daughters, Bonnie Lou Burcham and Vickie Lee Laws, both of King; a son, Lanny Oscar Sharpe of Hammond, La.; four grandchildren, Christina Vestal, Cameron Laws, Andrea Renee Tate and Sharon Driver; eight great-grandchildren; his father, Craig Emmett Burcham of Winston-Salem; a sister, Brenda Ann Bloss of Florrisant, Mo.; and a brother, Craig Emmett Burcham Jr. of Cornelius.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, at Slate Funeral Home in King, with Chaplain A.G. Parker officiating. Burial with Masonic and Military Rites will follow in Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 4, at Slate Funeral Home in King. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital Fund.
