REIDSVILLE — Joel Stanford "Joe" Cagle, Jr., 84, 1401 Pennrose Dr. Reidsville, N.C. went to be with the Lord Sunday January 29, 2012 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital Greensboro, NC
Memorial Services will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday February 2, 2012 at Citty Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dave Huggins officiating.
A native of Montgomery County, he was a son of the late Joel Stanford and Beatrice McGhee Cagle and had lived in Reidsville for the past four years. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force and had also served in the U.S. Navy with a combined total of 37 years of military service. He also was retired as a teacher at Rowan Community College and at Cabarrus County Community College.. A member of First Baptist Church, he was also a member of Jefferson Penn Masonic Lodge # 384 AF & AM, The Scottish Rite, The York Rite, and the Shriners. He was preceded in death by a brother: James William Cagle.
Surviving: his wife Shirley Russell Cagle of the home, a son: Joel Stanford Cagle, III of Round Rock, TX, a daughter: Theresa C. Adams and husband Tom of Round Rock TX, four grandchildren, one great grandchild, two step grandchildren, and two step great grandchildren. The family will see friends at Citty Funeral Home following the service.
