Homer Leo Chasse, age 76, of Austin, Texas, and formerly of Greenville, South Carolina, died September 7, 1995, after a long illness. Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, on August 6, 1919, he was the son of the late Louis and Anna (Deschenes) Chasse. He was with the United States Air Force for 24 years and with the United States State Department for seven years before retiring with an Honorable Discharge.
He was an active lifetime member of The Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
He was a member of Saint Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Austin, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his son, Russell Chasse, brothers, Reverend Camille Chasse, Adelard Chasse, Albert Chasse, Oliva Chasse, and sisters, Rose Fontaine, Maria Bilodeau, and Jeanette Saulnier.
He is survived by one son, Kenneth L. Chasse of Austin, Texas; three daughters, Anna E. Chasse of Mauldin, South Carolina, Deborah L. Peters of Austin, Texas, Beverly Baldauf of Charlotte, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Krintina Chasse of Greenville, South Carolina, Alicia Chasse of Whittmier, South Carolina, Keven Peters of Austin, Texas, Jessica Mixon of Mauldin, South Carolina; one sister, Alice Gendreau of Fall River, Massachusetts; one brother, Romuald Chasse of Fall River, Massachusetts; and several nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at the National Cemetery at Fort Samuel Houston in San Antonio, Texas.
In lieu of usual remembrances, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to your local Veterans of Foreign Wars Chapter.
