Glenn "Pops" Wayne Doan, 74, passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2010 in his residence. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gillis, a member of the Masonic Lodge, and a U.S. Air Force Veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Lena Doan; sons, Stephen Doan and wife Annisa of Magnolia, TX, and Dustin H. Gantt; daughters, Sharon Doan Landry of Jennings, Stephanie Doan of Sulphur, Sonja Doan Ellison of DeRidder, Stacie Doan Henry and husband, Barry of Morgan City; brother, Brent Doan of Albuquerque, N.M.; grandchildren, Cherina, Christie, Stevie, Aaron, Adam, Adrian, Meaghean, John, Slade, Kade, Paige, Blake; great grandchildren, Shyla, Tyler, Briley, Madelyn, Irelyn, Peyton, as well as one on the way, Braelinn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, L. J. and Inez Doan.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 11, 2010 at First Baptist Church of Gillis with Rev. Glenn George officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday beginning at 3 p.m. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery in Welsh, LA.
