Eric Wilhelm "Bill" Fors, Sr, 65, died May 4, 2009 at his home in Strasburg, VA, after a brief illness. Mr. Fors was born on April 17, 1944, to Julius Fredrick Fors, Jr. and Rita Alexandria Wilhelm Fors in Lackawanna, NY. Bill served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict. After his military service, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Missions and Theology from the Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO in 1976. Subsequently he served as a missionary in the Philippine Islands with the Baptist Bible Fellowship International.
Mr. Fors is survived by his wife, Elena S. Fors. He is also survived by his four children, Eric Wilhelm Fors, II , Mitchell Ray Fors, Nathan Fredrick Fors, and Alicia Faith May, the children of Gwinda Lynn Boggs Fors. He is further survived by his eight grandchildren and siblings Jacquelyn Ann Van Norman, J. Fredrick Fors, Kim Edward Fors, and Christine Ann Fors. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter Cassandra Belen Fors.
A funeral service will be held Friday, May 8, 2009 at 6:00 pm at Grace Baptist Church in Woodstock, VA where Bill was an active member. There is a visitation planned for Thursday, May 7 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, also at the church.
Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery.
His family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Missions Program of the Grace Baptist Church.
