Goedde, Joseph R., age 79, entered into rest on June 27, 2009. He was born on July 31, 1929 in Covington, Kentucky, to parents Kathryn and Charles Goedde. Joseph served in the U.S. Air Force in the Korean Conflict and Viet Nam War. He was stationed in many countries including Thailand, England, and the United States before retiring from Fairchild Air Force Base as a Staff Sergeant. Joseph was a resident of Spokane for over 36 years. His wife, Elizabeth (Betty) preceded him in death in 1984.
Joseph enjoyed all sports, especially baseball. He tended to his huge garden of which he gave away 95% of his produce, and enjoyed reading. Joseph and his long time friend, Del Ackerman, raised cattle on Mt. Spokane for a while. What Joseph enjoyed most, was sitting in his back yard with friends sharing a cold beer. He is survived by brothers, Earl and Charles A.; sisters, Hilda and Theresa; close friends, Delbert and Linda Ackerman; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service with military honors will be 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at Holy Cross Cemetery, 7200 N. Wall in Spokane, WA.
