Retired Air Force Senior Master Sgt. James "Jim" Leon Granberry, 72, 606 Sheridan Forest Road, passed away on Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Graveside services with full military honors will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in Willow Dale Cemetery with the Rev. Barry Stallings officiating.
James was born in Muscogee County, Ga., on Jan 3, 1936, to the late Leon Young Granberry and Avie Lee Rice Granberry. He served his country in the United States Air Force for 22 years and retired with the rank of Senior Master Sgt. After his military career, James worked as the assistant manager for the Family Shoe Store in Goldsboro.
James is survived by his wife, Nancy Pipkin Granberry; his daughters, Sherry Granberry of Goldsboro and Lisa Corbett and husband, LaVon Corbett of Goldsboro; his son, James David Granberry and fiancée, Rose Lam of Huntersville; his sister and brother-in-law, Benda and Buddy Kahn of Goldsboro; his grandchildren, Cody and Casey Corbett of Goldsboro, Natalie Granberry of Gastonia and Jasmine Granberry of Huntersville; and his special nieces, Alisa, Tracie and Brett and their husbands.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Ziebell and a sister-in-law, Mona Suddarth.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his home.

Nancy Linda Granberry, 71, of Goldsboro passed away Sunday, Aug 7, 2011 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center, surrounding by her loving family.
Graveside services will be held at Willow Dale Cemetery, Goldsboro on Tuesday, Aug. 9, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Barry Stallings officiating.
Nancy was born March 8, 1940 in Pikeville, N.C., to the late Clifton Marion Pipkin and Mary Ethel Howell Pipkin. She served as an Air Force wife and mother for 22 years, then worked at Family Shoe Store in Goldsboro for 23 years. She was a faithful member of Pleasant Grove Free Will Baptist Church. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, James L. Granberry and a sister, Mona Ann Suddarth.
She is survived by her daughters, Sherry Granberry of Goldsboro and Lisa Corbett and husband, LaVon Corbett of Goldsboro; her son, James David Granberry and fiancée, Rose Lam of Cornelius and Rose's son Austin; her sister and brother-in-law, Benda and Buddy Kahn of Goldsboro; her grandchildren, Cody and Casey Corbett of Goldsboro, Natalie Granberry of Gastonia and Jasmine Granberry of Cornelius, her special nieces, Alissa, Tracie and Brett and their husbands, her great-nephew, Riley, and great-niece, Gracie Ruth.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at her home.
