Mr. Willie George Hilliard, age 61, of 2908 Davie Drive, died at VA Medical Center on Monday, August 21, 2000, after a brief illness.
Mr. Hilliard was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, son of Ernest Hilliard and Mary Carden Hilliard. He was retired from the United States Air Force and was employed with Pickett Enterprises and was of the Prostetant faith.
Surviving are his wife, Bonnie Mitchell Hilliard; five daughters, Debra Fields of Hillsborough, Donna Rahimzadeh and husband Ben of Durham, Karen Matthews and husband Richard of Chapel Hill, Robin Rivas and Meghan Rigsbee, (both) of Durham; one sister, Barbara Taylor of Durham; five grandchildren, Christopher Murphy, Matthew and Renee Rahimzadeh, Jessica Lawrence, and Hannah Rivas; and also a close friend, Michael McKee, and many other friends and family.
Graveside services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens with Rev. Lonnie Bell officiating.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home, 2908 Davie Drive. Flowers are acceptable.
