Frank Taylor Hudson


IDAHO FALLS, Idaho --- Frank Taylor Hudson, 71, of Idaho Falls, died unexpectedly on Friday, Aug. 14, 2009, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 5, 1937, in Woodburn, Ky., to Guy and Dora Hudson. The family moved to Plano, Ky., where Frank grew up. In 1956, he graduated from Warren County High School in Kentucky.

He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1956 and was stationed in North Carolina for four years.

He married Gyla Ritchie on March 13, 1957, in Denver, Colo. They had two children, Christopher Allen Hudson and Charita Kaye Hudson. They later divorced. He moved to Idaho Falls in 1970. In 1972, Frank started working for the City of Idaho Falls Parks Department, where he put in most of Idaho Falls' sprinkler systems for the parks and built the log fences. He served the city for 26 years, retiring in 2000.

In 1972, he married Lela Marie Anderson, and they were married for 30 years. Together they raised her seven children: Mike, Kathy, Randy, Bruce, Lorrie, Connie and Vickie.

Frank is survived by his best friend and companion of eight years, Eileen Keller; children, Charita (Willie) Moyers of Kentucky, Mike (Donna) Anderson of Huntsville, Utah, Kathy Hymas of Blackfoot, Bruce (Teri) Anderson of Iona, Lorrie Anderson and Connie Covert, both of Idaho Falls, and Vickie Carter of Helena, Mont.; brother, Donnie (Mary Will) Ray Hudson of Idaho Falls; sisters, Sue (Ben) DeBalsi and Barbara Corbett, both of Bowling Green, Ky.; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents, Guy and Dora Hudson; two sons, Christopher Allen Hudson and Randy Hudson; nephew, Donnie Ray Hudson Jr.; and a niece, Daesha Marie Garner.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, at Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home, 825 E. 17th St. in Idaho Falls. A family visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and for one hour Wednesday prior to services, both at the funeral home.
