Howard Brewster Macon, age 91, of 5407 Drake Rd., Greensboro died Sunday, April 20, 2008 at High Point Regional Hospital in High Point.
Mr. Macon was born August 7, 1916, in Seagrove, NC, the son of John Thomas and Donna Hayes Macon.
Mr. Macon was a native of Randolph County and graduated from Coleridge High School. Shortly after graduating he enlisted in the US Army and went on to US Air Force where he retired with 30 years of service and with the Rank of Chief Warrant Officer. In addition to his parents Howard is preceded in death by his wife, Della Freeman Macon, three sisters, Asia Farlow, Cora Jane Auman and Pearl Exie Miller, and two brothers, John Spurgeon Macon and Leonard Matthew Macon.
He is survived by two sisters, Willie Ester Fesmire of Archdale and Beatrice Fabrezio of Courtland, NY; a brother, Jack Ferman Macon of Seagrove; a niece; Martha Macon Hall, who resided at Mr. Macon's home and was his sole care taker.
