Eddie Doyle Moore, Jr. of Parker, FL went from the Church Militant to the Church Triumphant on Saturday, February 5, 2011 after a 7-month battle with esophageal cancer. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend.
He was born on January 27, 1933 in Lake Geneva, WI. He served 26 years in the Air Force and retired as a MSGT in 1978. He worked for the Bay County Property Appraiser for 17 years before his final retirement in 1998. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie Doyle Moore, Sr. and Cora Okeson Moore; his wife of 50 years,Vernis ( Vernie) Andresen Moore; his brother, Walter Moore; and sisters, Julia Albertson and Roberta Hallman.
He is survived by his children, Kevin Moore (Tanya) of Milton, FL, Kerry Moore (Marianne) of Colorado Springs, CO, Kerin Shue of Crestview, FL, and Eddie III (Laura) of Providence, RI; his grandchildren, Matthew Shue, Mitchell, Sofie, Kristine, Eddie IV and Ray Moore; brothers, Daniel (Rosemary) of Murray, KY, Greg of Spokane, WA, and Dennis (Judi) of Adams, TN; sisters, Catherine (Steve) Horkey of Lake Geneva, WI and Colleen (Frank) Smith of Phoenix, AZ; sister-in-laws, Coyla Andresen of Sioux City, IA and Audrey Moore of Ft. Myers, FL; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ our Savior Lutheran Church in Panama City Beach with Rev. Robert Lydick officiating with Pastor Ehrichs, Pastor Kan, and Pastor Tech assisting. Asked to serve as pallbearers are Kevin Moore, Kerry Moore, Trey Moore, Matthew Shue, Bruce Myers, and Larry Couch. The family will receive friends Friday, February 11, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Kent Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, Mr. Moore asked that donations be made to Christ our Savior Lutheran Church, 300 Clara Avenue, Panama City Beach, FL 32407, or the American Cancer Society, 4001 W 23rd Street, Suite C, Panama City, FL 32405. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt love and gratitude to Judi and Dennis Moore for taking care of and loving Eddie for the past 7 months.
