Sandra Sancreek Robledo
July 3, 1940 - August 25, 2011


Sandra Sancreek Robledo was born in Adena, Ohio on July 3, 1940 to Ralph and Lena Sancreek. She passed away peacefully in Merced, CA on August 25, 2011 at the age of 71.

In 1958 Sandra graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School, enlisted in the U. S. Marine Corp, and completed Boot Camp at MCRD Parris Island, SC. Sandra was then based at MCAS Cherry Point, NC, where she met her husband Ralph L. Robledo, an Airman First Class in the U.S. Air Force. They were married for over 51 years. The Robledos were transferred to Misawa AB, Japan, where their son Dean was born in 1962. Their daughter Michelle was born at Otis, AFB, MA in 1963, and son Christopher was born at George AFB, CA in 1966. During their 27 year career in the U.S. Air Force they were assigned throughout the United States moving every 3 to 4 years. They retired in 1981 in the Atwater/Merced area. After raising a family, Sandra graduated from Merced College and worked for Merced County for 17 years. Before retiring, Sandra worked as the office supervisor in the personnel office.

Sandra was an active member of St. Patrick's Parish, where she was a member of the adult choir for over 16 years, a member of Schola Cantorum, and attended Eucharistic Adoration every week. Sandra ensured that her children were properly instructed in the Catholic Faith. Her children attribute their accomplishments to her mantra "You can get frustrated, but you cannot give up". They also attribute their hearts to her mantra "Feelings are neither right nor wrong, they are simply your feelings". Sandra had the personality of an angel and was a person of exceptional goodness, grace, and loveliness. Even though she suffered with cancer, she would always comfort those who visited. Sandra does live on through her children and grand-daughter.

Sandra was preceded in death by her father Ralph, brother Bill, and sister Patricia. Sandra is survived by her mother Lena , brother Richard and sisters Karen, Deione, and Kem, also her loving husband Ralph, son Dean and his wife Graciela, daughter Michelle and son Chris and grand-daughter Vanessa.

Friends and family are invited to a public viewing and visitation on Wednesday August 31, 2011 at the Wilson Family Funeral Chapel of Merced, 525 West 20th Street, Merced between 1-5p.m. At 7:30 a Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 671 East Yosemite Ave. Merced. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Patrick's Church on Thursday September 1, 2011 at 10:00 AM, following the Mass, a reception will be held in the St. Patrick's Parish Hall.

Sandra will be laid to rest on Friday September 2, 2011 at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mary's Mantle, St. Vincent De Paul, St. Patrick's Church/Music Ministry in Merced, and the women in the Military Service Memorial in Washington DC.
