BEDFORD - Carl H. Russell, a warehouse superintendent, died Saturday at a Bedford hospital. He was 82.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Hugh M. Moore & Sons Funeral Home in Arlington. Burial will be in Moore Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Russell born in Smith County, Miss., and lived in Bedford for 16 years.
He retired as a master sergeant in the Air Force in 1960 and was also a retired warehouse superintendent for Ref-Chem in Odessa.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Euless, Pearl Harbor Survivors and the American Legion in Euless and was a former member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Odessa.
Survivors: Wife, Edith Russell of Bedford; son, Don Russell of Benbrook; daughter, Judy Poole of Houston; three sisters, Minnie Blakeney and Billie Dial, both of Monticello, Miss., and Ruby Futch of Houston; and one grandson.

Carl H. Russell, my husband, was born November 20, 1910, in Smith County, MS. He served two years in the 14th Infantry Regiment in Panama, was discharged, and returned to the States in 1938. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps and arrived in Hawaii in August, 1938, as a member of the 31st BG Armament Section. We were married August 20, 1941. He served in Guadalcanal, Solomon Islands, New Hebrides, Tinian, and later in Korea. He was proud to serve in the 9th Bomber Group. After the war he served several years at Davis-Monthan AFB, Research and Development, Kirtland, Korea, and Seymour-Johnson, NC. We have a daughter, a son, and one grandson. M/Sgt. Russell died with cancer October 9, 1993, at Bedford (Tarrant County), Texas.
