Ayden Alonzo Smith, 74, of Eastpoint died Monday in Panama City.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Kelley Funeral Home in Apalachicola (904-653-2208), with burial at Eastpoint Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
A native of Johnston County, N.C., he had lived in Alaska for 20 years. He was a retired Air Force sergeant, a veteran of World War II and the Korean War, and the former owner of an auto-garage business. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He is survived by his wife, Eunice Smith of Alaska and Eastpoint; a son, Ayden Louis Smith of Big Lake, Alaska; six daughters, Erma Leigh Otis of Tennessee, Deanie Owens and Kathy Chatman, both of Cleveland, Tenn., Terry Dean and Mary Lisa Talley, both of Washington, Mo., and Hampton Smith of Big Lake; three sisters, Charlotte Whitehead of Norfolk, Va., Lena Lambert of Portsmouth, Va., and Erma Clark of Indian-apolis; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
