Clyde "Speck" Voges
Aug 13, 1921 - May 16, 2010


Clyde "Speck" Voges passed away on Sunday evening, May 16, 2010, in Boerne. He was 88 years old. Clyde was born in Boerne on Aug. 13, 1921, to Walter and Laura Voges. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, his sister and his beloved wife of 52 years, Charlye.

The Voges family is one of the founding families of Kendall County and Clyde was a longtime resident of Boerne. It can be said that Clyde lived life to the fullest and never knew an idle moment. He found peace and happiness outdoors, especially while he was making molasses, gardening and hunting. He was the Boerne Tomato Man since the 1970s. Clyde was a career military man and served his country proudly for 30 years in the U.S. Air Force. He fought in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He was awarded a Bronze Star for service above and beyond during the Vietnam War. He retired as a Chief Master Sergeant. Clyde ranched and farmed his whole life. He was an amazing father and grandfather and had a generous soul.

Clyde is survived by his daughters Anna Voges and husband Paul Caskey of Driftwood and Amy Toth and husband Lawrence Edward Toth of Boerne and their two children, Jennifer Lynn Toth Calder and Gregory Darnell Toth and wife Lindsey Dolliver Toth. Clyde is also survived by his four great-grandchildren, Emma Lynn Calder, Hunter Allan Calder, Alison Mischa Toth and William Alex Toth.

A visitation will be held Friday, May 21, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home. A memorial service will be on Saturday, May 22, at 2 p.m. at Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Boerne Cemetery.
