WARNER ROBINS, GA., - Chief Master Sgt. Dale Henry Wallace, USAF & USAFR (Ret.), 67, died Monday, May 11, 2009. He was born on October 6, 1941, in Philadelphia, PA. Enlisting in 1959, "Wally" served his country in the United States Air Force with great pride and honor. In 1963 he transferred to the South Carolina Air National Guard from which he retired in 1996 as Chief Master Sergeant. During his distinguished career, he received numerous commendations including the Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Reserve Forces Meritorious Medal, and the Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon. He served during the Cuban Missile Crisis and was deployed to Saudi Arabia in support of Operation Desert Shield/Storm. He was further decorated with the Kuwait Liberation Medal from the governments of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
Mr. Wallace was a devoted husband, and loving father and grandfather. He enjoyed nothing more than frequent family gatherings. He also enjoyed gardening and swimming with his beloved grandchildren. His parents, Hammon Jefferson Wallace and Roberta Ruth Billman Wallace Anderson, preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving wife of forty-six years, Barbara Adkins Wallace; two daughters, Andrea Selby (David), Haynesville, and Angela Wallace, Warner Robins; three granddaughters, Amanda, Victoria, and Rachel; a sister, Cheryl Hernandez, Warner Robins; and an extended family which includes three sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews; and all of his military brothers.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 13, 2009, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2009, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, Warner Robins, Mr. Butch Adkins officiating.
