Hurshell E. Wright, 73, of Byron, GA, entered into rest on Friday, September 25, 2009.
Mr. Wright was born on September 14, 1936, in Vonore, Tennessee. He graduated from the University of Nebraska with a degree in Economics. Subsequently, he proudly served his country in the U. S. Air Force as a Logistics officer, for twenty-six years. A member of the Waterford Golf Club, he also enjoyed gardening. His parents, Hurshell B. Wright and Roxie Mincey Wright, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his wife of fifty-three years, Sue K. Wright, Byron; son, Patrick Wright, Johnson City, Tennessee; daughter, Nancy Borders, Byron and Doris McWhorter (John), Perry; grandchildren, Sara, Bethany, Lucas, and Mathias Wright, Steven, Jennifer, Brett and Emily Borders; and Michelle, Alex and Johnathan McWhorter; great-grandchildren, Cali Wright and Lydia Borders; brothers, Kenneth and Verlin Wright; sister, Betty Denton, all of Madisonville, Tennessee; Visitation will be Tuesday, September 29, 2009, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2009, at the Georgia Veterans Cemetery, Milledgeville. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association, 277 Martin Luther King Boulevard, Suite 201, Macon GA 31201.

WRIGHT, HURSHELL EUGENE - age 73, of Byron, GA, a native of Monroe County, died Friday evening, September 25, 2009. He retired from the United States Air Force after 27 years of service. The last 15 years he was a chaplain for Georgia State Correctional Institute. Preceded in death by parents, Hurshell and Roxie Wright, of Madisonville. Survivors, wife of 55 years, Sue Wright; son, Patrick Wright, of Oklahoma; daughters, Nancy Borders, Doris McWhorter, both of Byron, GA; 11 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty S. Wright Denton; brothers, Kenneth L. Wright, Verlin B. Wright, all of Madisonville. Arrangements are pending with McCullough Funeral Home, Warner Robbins, GA.
