
Wiley Allgood said he thinks this photo was taken after we flew a four ship "good will" fly-by of a dozen or so NC cities/towns. Gene Hayes, pilot and public relations/historical officer, thought up the idea of naming all our plane after NC cities/towns, and hosting the mayors (of same) at the Squadron and Seymour Johnson - it was a big hit.
56-1205 was the first "City of Goldsboro" but was transferred and replaced by 57-0770. Either way, both of those aircraft eventually became target drones and were destroyed.
