Still living in Goldsboro, this is John's campaign photograph as he successfully ran for a seat on the Board of Commissioners of Wayne County, and has since been elected Chairman of the Board. John was the first 482nd member to arrive at Seymour Johnson in 1956 and is the only known airman to have served all nine years of the squadron's existence.
