I don't recall a performance by these two, public or private, that I didn't enjoy. Individualists and distinctive soloists, together they grew yet another dimension. They performed ragtime across its entire spectrum with unswerving enthusiasm for the form. Both are composers, researchers, writers, and dedicated performers with Ian adding strings and vocals to the duo. I miss them both, now that their careers have parted...Ian, now married, serving as partner and accompanist with his wife, Regina, and Dick continuing as solo performer and four handed ragtimist with several artists, all the while maintaining his world standing as a magician.
