I had a front row seat at Preservation Hall, but the blacks in the pick-up band that night insisted that I not photograph them. [Apparently someone had used their images at the World's Fair that year without compensation.] So I only took a photo of Jacques, who didn't care. Lucky for me.

Jacques is still playing, band leading, and recording in New Orleans and has several CDs currently available, Echoes of Sidney Bechet, his Creole Rice Yerba Buena Jazz Band, & with Jamie Wight's Portage JB and Fritzle's Jazz Productions.

[I don't know how anyone can live in New Orleans...mean streets, meaner termites, and mold that will eat you alive, literally.]
