Eric had led a St. Louis band known as "The City Lights" but accepted the clarinet chair for the Ragtimers when Glenn Meyer vacated...and has held it ever since. Good man and a very interesting player, unlike any other.

The thing about this photo that has always struck me was its similarity to a New Orleans photo taken of the legendary clarinetist Irving Fazola. Ought to be a law against photographers taking pictures of wind instrument musicians when they are playing as their faces are always distorted.
