I always liked this shot even though, technically, it isn't much to look at. Two things strike me as outstanding: (1) The way Eubie holds his hands, both protective and expressive; and (2) The delight on Kathy's face revisiting with the Blakes (Miriam was to the right) whom Kathy had met before.
Eubie had two careers. The first encompassed the 40 years of the early 20th century when Blake was a Broadway composer. And the three decades (60s to 80s) when Eubie re-emerged as a Ragtime performer, SuperStar. Eubie had exceptional talent for any age, but to see it flash in his old age was awesome. Blakes's stage presence was like sitting in your living room and Eubie was as gentlemanly as a man can be. Loved by all. His only real vice was overstatement about the talent of his fellow performers...but he believed every word of it.
