This was a blustery, rainy, and dismal as could be day during the 1984 St. Louis Ragtime Festival. Tom wasn't about to give up his scheduled time on the levee barge. He threw back the tarp on the piano and had at it. Apparently, I tagged along. Tom was never very interested in folk ragtime, always preferring the pianistics of the 1920s. And, like David Thomas Roberts, is never too far from pen and paper. Since I'm a folk ragger, we don't have much in common but I certainly respect his talent and choices. Very dedicated.
