Robert Moore Williams
"Why pick one thing and drape a little iron curtain around it?"
Robert Williams began selling science fiction in 1937 as Robert
Moore with "Zero As a Limit" to Astounding. He was able
to make a modest but consistent living at this for the next three
decades. Robert's total SF output was in the area of 150 plus stories
and novels.
Williams was a meticulous records keeper and maintained a
complete file of his works, submissions, sales, galleys, manuscript s,
and books. He stored those boxes in closets, the basement, and the
attic until one day when he loaded it all up (several trips, many
boxes) and drove to CSUF (Cal State University, Fullerton) where he
deposited his entire holdings into Fullerton Library's Special
Collection of Science Fiction. This record is one of the few complete
runs of an author's work spanning several decades.
